Preparation of a diploma thesis for archiving in the Electronic Repository

Electronic copy of the diploma thesis

To submit a qualification work to the electronic repository of NTU "KhPI" it is necessary to form a package of electronic documents according to the following rules:

1. Files formats:

  • texts — PDF.
    When exporting, you must specify the file type PDF/A, prohibit the conversion of text into a bitmap, and integrate all the necessary fonts;
  • appendixes — PDF or ZIP.
    If the source file of the appendix cannot be converted to PDF (program, data file, animation), it is submitted in original format but packed in a ZIP archive;

2. The size of one file should not exceed 500 MB;

3. The file name is formed in Latin according to the pattern: Document title_Year of defence_Surname_First initial_Second initial.

Diploma theses uploaded to the repository are available for viewing at http://repositorygt.kpi.kharkov.ua

Preparation for the defence of the thesis

  1. The student submits to the supervisor the completed thesis, signed by the consultants and the standards supervisor.
  2. The supervisor assesses the readiness of the thesis for defence, signs the thesis and makes a written response, which gives a general description of the student's work.
  3. The thesis is checked for plagiarism. If the level of uniqueness is insufficient, a detailed analysis of borrowings is conducted.
  4. Based on the supervisor's response and plagiarism checking, the head of the department or an authorized person decides on the admission of the thesis to the defence and puts his signature on the title page. If the head of the department does not consider it possible to admit a student to the defence, the department prepares an opinion for approval by the rector.
  5. The thesis is uploaded for archiving in the Electronic Repository of the University
  6. The thesis admitted to the defence is sent for review. In his conclusions, the reviewer notes the relevance of the topic, novelty, the degree of validity of these scientific, practical and organizational solutions.
  7. The dissertation, along with the review and review, is sent to the state attestation commission for defence.
  8. Right after the defence, the thesis is transferred to the archive for storage. Graphic documents made on A1-A2 sheets are folded for storage according to the STVUZ-KhPI-3.04 rule.

After the defence of the diploma thesis

To obtain a diploma and documents transferred to NTU 'KhPI' upon admission, the graduate has to perform the following steps:

  • Return the methodical materials to the department
  • Submit the Exit Checklist to the Student Personnel Department
